Three NSSP junior choirs join forces in Liverpool
On Sunday 4 February, three NSSP junior choirs joined forces in the stunning surroundings of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. Over 100 singers from the Archdiocese of Liverpool’s Knowsley Children’s Choir, Liverpool Anglican Cathedral Children’s Choir and the Junior Boys and Girls Choirs of Leeds Cathedral sang for Solemn Mass and then gave a short concert, accompanied by Leeds Cathedral organ scholar, Frankie Tempest.
Lizzie Leather, Choral Director in Leeds and Director of the Leeds Cathedral Junior Choirs, said:
‘The combined singing sound of the Leeds, Liverpool and Knowsley Junior Choirs, together with the Metropolitan Cathedral Choir adults and upper voices, was incredibly uplifting. The Dean recounted this in his homily, speaking of the importance of praising God through choral music. What an excellent partnership through the NSSP, and we look forward to welcoming the Liverpool and Knowsley Junior Choirs to Leeds in the future.’
