The Diocese of Portsmouth is recruiting a Choral Director

The Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and appropriately qualified Choral Director who, working with the Diocesan Education Service, will be responsible for partnering with local diocesan schools to implement and develop the National Schools Singing Programme (NSSP).

The Choral Director will work with up to 12 schools in the diocese and will be responsible for the development of choral singing in those schools, nurturing potential in our diverse communities. The core work of the Choral Director takes place during the school day in diocesan primary schools. Children in the NSSP with a particular interest in singing will be encouraged to take part in after-school choirs and to sing in church. A key aim of the role is to create opportunities for children to participate in the music provision for their own parishes, so the role incorporates some Sunday working to facilitate and lead this.
