The Diocese of Nottingham is seeking a part-time Choral Director
The Diocese of Nottingham is at an exciting phase of development as they continue to roll out their schools’ programme and explore new ways of engaging the faithful within the diocese, especially young people, with the Church through music. Thanks to the generous support of the Vinehill Trust, the National Schools’ Singing Programme, and the Diocese of Nottingham, they are delighted to have been able work across 15 schools over the past 3 years providing high quality music provision with a faith based focus for 1000 children per week. Since September 2021, they have been gradually expanding the project which has already seen great rewards in take up of children’s choirs and links with the parish and Cathedral through music. They are now looking to go further and expand to Derbyshire so more children can access this programme.
The Choral Director will be a key member of the Diocesan Music Department team responsible for delivering the Schools’ Singing Programme across six schools in The St Ralph Sherwin Trust. As part of their role they will also undertake the direction of 2 choral projects in Burton and Mickleover.
This is a part time, 2 year part-time fixed term position, commencing in September 2024.
