Under the leadership and vision of Bishop Terence Drainey, the Diocese of Middlesbrough will benefit from £75,000 NSSP seed funding and consultancy support over the next five years. The expansion will focus on Blessed Nicholas Postgate Multi-Academy Trust in the north of the Diocese with two choral directors working across its family of primary schools. This work will also enable the further growth of the children’s choirs at Middlesbrough Cathedral, building on the excellent work of Diocesan Director of Music Timothy Harrison. The Cathedral can comfortably accommodate up to 800 people and is an ideal place for young voices, with both a wonderful pipe organ and superb acoustics. The Diocese will advertise for an additional full time choral director very shortly.
