The Diocese of Aberdeen leads the way in Scotland

The UK’s most northerly region is the first Scottish diocese to receive funding from the National Schools Singing Programme. Bishop Hugh Gilbert has been a strong advocate of singing in schools and his Diocese has successfully operated a Schools Singing Programme since 2017 led by John Horton and coordinated by David Meiklejohn. The NSSP grant of £75,000 will allow the programme to significantly expand across the region. The Diocese is now recruiting another musician to work with schools in the north of the Diocese and is seeking a person with exceptional gifts in working with young voices and a desire to achieve the highest possible standards. The closing date for applications is Monday 14 June and further details are available from www.rcda.scot
