Singing comes to life in Inverness in the Diocese of Aberdeen
St Joseph’s Primary School, Inverness gathered together with their parish community in the school playground for a very special Mass celebrating the Laudato Si’ message of Care for our Common Home.
Headteacher Hester McMillan writes of the music:
We are very grateful to Mr. Gordon Jack, our Schools Choral Director, who prepared our pupils to be able to participate fully throughout the Mass with their wonderful singing. This was complimented highly from all who attended and certainly attracted passers by to stop and take a moment to listen, a beautiful sound in a busy day of normal life.
Mr. Jack has been supporting all our classes on a weekly basis and our pupils are consistently praised for their musicality, willingness to sing and genuine joy of singing. We have planned, prepared and organised at least one whole School Mass each term which Mr. Jack helps us to prepare for by practising hymns but also Mass responses that are sung too.
