Jon Christos has joined the Diocese of Shrewsbury as a Choral Director, working in schools in the north of the Diocese.

Jon is a renowned, platinum-selling recording artist, conductor, arranger, musical director, singing teacher and TV and radio presenter. He began his education at Chetham’s School of Music, during which time he became a chorister and later a Lay Clerk at Manchester Cathedral, before continuing his studies at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM).

Jon has performed in operas, musicals and shows all over the world as well as in every major concert hall in the UK, including headlining the BBC’s ‘Proms in the Park’. He was signed to Sony UK on a 5-album deal which has led to him working with world renowned conductors on various tours and has been a vocal coach for the BBC and ITV.

Jon has worked with choirs worldwide, including the Hallé Choir, the National Youth Choir and the World Choir, and delivered masterclasses at the RNCM, Trinity College of Music and Chetham’s School of Music. He is thrilled to be working with the young people of the Diocese in the early part of their faith journey, instilling a love of singing and sound vocal technique from the start.
