Marcela Campaña Appointed in the Diocese of Northampton
We are delighted that Marcela Campaña has joined the Diocese of Northampton as a Choral Director.
‘I have always been passionate about choral music. I started singing in choirs at a very young age in my hometown, Río Gallegos (Santa Cruz province, Patagonia Argentina). At the same time, I began to study piano and music theory at the local Conservatory. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the Universidad Católica Argentina, a Master’s Degree in Musicology from the Paris-Sorbonne University (France), and a Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Birmingham, where I studied with Professor Simon Halsey. I have founded and conducted many community and children’s choirs. As a singer, I have performed both as a chorister and a soloist in the most prominent concert halls of Argentina and the United Kingdom. I am thrilled to be joining the National Schools Singing Programme, and to be able to share my passion!’
