Archbishop Eamon Martin of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland, invited two Schools Singing Programme schools in Portadown to be involved in the recording of his joint Christmas message with his counterpart in the Church of Ireland, Archbishop John McDowell. Presentation PS and Ballyoran PS recorded two pieces for this broadcast due to be aired on RTÉ One television on Christmas Day 12.10pm. At lunch over pizzas, the children and clergy had great fun chatting together about the Schools Singing Programme. Referring to the two tutors involved in the SSP for the Archdiocese of Armagh and the Diocese of Dromore, Orla Nugent and Sara-Jane Kelly, one principal stated:

“It has been such a privilege to be part of this wonderful programme and what a term it has been, culminating in the beautiful Advent Mass on Friday and the amazing opportunity yesterday to sing on television on Christmas morning, which our pupils enjoyed so much.
The pupils have benefited greatly from this programme and their enthusiasm, and motivation for what they have been doing has come from the vision and passion that you have both shown for music and singing over the last 10 weeks.”
